Preventing Tomorrow's Pain Today
In his first session, Marie simply watched Jared stand naturally and walk back and forth a few times. From that alone, she identified around 90% of the problems he was already dealing with, a level of assessment skill Jared describes as "insane" and "baffling." That combination of technique, results, and the ability to quickly read what a body needs is what stood out most. Jared's motivation goes beyond how he feels today. Watching his father deal with significant pain after years of manual physical labor, and recognizing similar patterns starting in his own body from his physically demanding work and schooling, pushed him toward preventative care now rather than waiting for pain to set in. He describes feeling relatively pain-free today and looking forward to a future where he can play with his kids, and eventually pick up and run around with his grandkids, without pain holding him back. Structural Integration is different from a typical relaxation or deep-tissue massage. Rather than only addressing pain after it appears, it works with the body's fascial network to identify and address movement patterns and imbalances early, which is especially relevant for people in physically demanding jobs or training programs.
